Derek Prior is an experienced developmental editor who has worked with some of the best traditionally published and independent fiction writers. He has also nurtured many new and intermediate writers and helped them to reach the next level with their writing.
As a lifelong reader of Fantasy and Science Fiction, Derek has a particular interest in those genres, but also has experience editing Children’s Literature, Horror, Crime Fiction, Historical Fiction, and Suspense.
Derek was born and educated in the South of England. He qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse in 1992 and then went on to read Drama, Classics and Medieval History at the University of Wales, achieving an honors degree.
He read Theological Studies (MA) and undertook Doctoral research at UWA.

Derek Prior has ghostwritten novels for both traditionally published and independent authors. Derek works closely with clients at every stage of the project, starting with the initial idea for the story, characterization, plot, style, voice etc. Word count is agreed at the outset, so final cost is fixed. Payment is by installment, with the first due at commencement of the writing stage, the second at the halfway point, and the last when the project is completed. At the end, you will receive a professionally written and fully revised manuscript.
