Derek Prior Books Nameless Dwarf

Progress on Dead Dwarves Don’t Die.

I’m closing in on the end of Annals of the Nameless Dwarf book 8: Dead Dwarves Don’t Die. I had initially planned a series of short novellas to continue the story, but quickly changed my mind. The new Nameless Dwarf stories are going to be full-length novels, and Dead Dwarves has turned out to be every bit as complex as the earlier installments.

It follows on from the events of Last of the Exalted, at least as far as Nameless is concerned. We get to meet old friends and new characters who form an integral part of the story.

I have two scenes to finish before I move on to the denouement, which brings all the threads together in what looks set to be a massive ending.

But not THE end.

Because I’ve also been tidying up the outline for book 9: Tomb of the Witch Queen, which deals with the full aftermath of Last of the Exalted, and properly introduces the dwarf woman from the epilogue, who Nils observes staring at the broken Axe of the Dwarf Lords.

And yes, in case you are wondering, Nameless is still the main character. How can that be? You will have to wait and see!

As to the other old characters who appear in books 8 and 9, any idea who they might be? Who would you want to see? Comments below!

Hopefully you won’t be disappointed, but even if you are, I have tentative plans for a book 10, which will involve at least two other old favorites.

In case you’re not all caught up with the first 7 books, you can find them all here:
